At DePS, we believe that parents have a fundamental role to play in helping their child’s learning journey to be successful. A positive relationship needs to be formed between Parents, Students and Teachers. This triangulated partnership is the key to successful learning.

Research has shown the importance of parental engagement in the success of your child’s education. We want the best for your child, and by working in partnership we can successfully enrich your child’s journey.

True family involvement is not just four 15-minute parent conferences a year. True family involvement that leads to improved student outcomes is a shared responsibility in which regular two-way communication ensures that each student is on track to meet grade level academic requirements and well-being expectations.

Throughout the academic year, we run workshops, parent-consultations, open classrooms and many other events to provide parents with the information and skills they require to play an active role in the child’s learning. Parents participate in their child’s education by attending assemblies, Parent Evenings, helping out with extracurricular activities such as the Reading Club, field trips and Parent Workshops.

At DePS faculty members build a positive relationship between every child’s home and school. The involvement of parents greatly assists children in becoming happy members of the DePS community.
